So much fun! That’s how I’d describe this couple. The couple added lots of personal touches, like their friend who performed the ceremony and another friend who played the piano. Then there were the skis that guests were asked to sign instead of a traditional guestbook (apparently Adam has quite a few pairs of broken skis!) And if you’re not a big “flower person”, check out the pinecone bouquets and boutonnieres.

This was one of those weddings where the weather didn’t quite cooperate. The couple was still in great spirits as their ceremony was moved indoors. I think all the snow we got had something to do with their good moods…there was so much amazing skiing the week they were here!

They asked us to focus on the relationships they have with each other, their family and their friends. With so many fun and spontaneous moments, it was easy to get lots of great candid shots. We only got to spend a few hours with this couple and wish we could have stayed the whole night!

Louise + Mike | Winter Whistler Wedding | Nita Lake Lodge

Louise and Mike were a dream to work with! They were both super invested in the photography, especially Mike, and we worked really closely with them to come up with the perfect timeline to get all the photos they wanted. Tim and split up at the getting ready stage so I could hang out with the girls while Tim chilled with the guys.

We couldn’t have planned the weather any better even if we’d tried. The snow held off for the outdoor ceremony (we even saw the sun in the morning) and it started to snow just after the family photos for all the fun wedding party photos – perfect timing! Everyone toughed it out in the cold weather which we’re so grateful for – thanks everyone!

Before we knew it, we were back inside for an amazing buffet, some really funny speeches and a choreographed first dance. The perfect end to a perfect day! Best part was we got to go out again with the bride & groom for a Day-After Session (photos coming soon…)

Kim + Maxwell | West Vancouver + Grouse Mountain Winter Wedding

You’re not going to believe me when I say this wedding was on December 30th! Yup, it was a perfect, warm(ish) and (somewhat) sunny winter day. We started with a first look at the beach in West Vancouver and finished off with an incredible sunset on Grouse Mountain and some nighttime ice skating.

We met Kim and Max at the Vancouver Wedding & Honeymoon Show in the fall. They had pretty much decided it wouldn’t be worth hiring a photographer for their wedding since it gets dark at 4 pm in December…We were super excited to hear about their plans for an intimate mountaintop wedding, so after looking at our work and a little convincing, we managed to change their minds! Here’s what they had to say after working with us (yes, I’m blushing):

Megan + Matt | Whistler Elopement | Nita Lake Lodge

Maybe “elopement” isn’t quite the right word…Megan contacted us many many months before her actual wedding day. This Whistler wedding was super intimate (with only 3 guests), the couple was so much fun and it was on New Year’s Day, which is why the bride needed to start planning a little earlier than most elopements!

Just because a wedding is small doesn’t mean that it hasn’t been meticulously planned. The bride had a beautiful aqua colour scheme including her shoes, jewellery, garter and the groom’s tie. And she planned for the cold by lining her body with heat packs under her dress – brilliant idea!

Witnessing the marriage of this lovely couple was a perfect way to start 2012!

Mary + Ray – Winter Wonderland Wedding – Four Seasons Resort Whistler

This was the ultimate Whistler winter wonderland wedding. There was lots of snow…even inside! Snow drifts lining the aisle, falling snow during the ceremony, a beautiful ice sculpture to chill their signature martini and snowflakes lighting up the walls.

The bride had a vision that was brought together beautifully by an incredible team of professionals. It was a one-of-a-kind wedding that their family and friends will be talking about for years to come!

Ashley + Dave – Whistler Winter Wedding at Nita Lake Lodge

We had so much fun with this couple, starting with their engagement session last fall (I still need to post those pics!) They’re both super comfortable in front of the camera and love to ham it up. Their wedding party was also a riot and kept us laughing all night.

They decided not to take any chances with the weather in Whistler and planned from the very beginning to have their ceremony inside. I loved how their touch of sparkle here and there – the bride’s shoes, her dress, the veil and even the cake – played with the candlelight during the ceremony and reception.

And one of the best parts…fresh snow for beautiful photos (and skiing!)

Randi + Simon – Whistler Winter Wedding at the Nicklaus North Golf Club

This winter wedding in Whistler was special for so many reasons – it was all about bringing together family, friends and traditions. The candle-lit ceremony at the Nicklaus North Golf Club was beautifully intimate with a custom-made chuppah as the focal point. We carefully planned their photos around sunset (which was really early!) and got the best light imaginable.

Capturing this sweet couple’s day and their strong family connections was truly a privilege!
