Our website’s getting a major overhaul, so I figured I should do one more blog post before we’re not allowed to update it for a few weeks…
We had a blast working with this couple. The initial plan involved photos on the chairlift with sweeping mountain views and mountain biking…in their wedding clothes! Their plans evolved and changed a bit, but a chairlift ride was an absolute must. We ordered a picture perfect blue-bird day and apparently Mother Nature didn’t get our order.
No worries! The weather didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits. When you decide to do an outdoor wedding in Whistler, you kind of have to go with the flow and take what you’re given. The mist ended up being incredibly romantic and magical. Some of our favourite images from the entire summer came from this wedding.
Not only was the couple genuinely in love, they also added lots of personal touches to their wedding. The bride and groom gave each other customized gifts – a pretty Inukshuk necklace for the bride and similar cufflinks for the groom. They involved their guests in the wedding by asking each couple in attendance to perform a part of the ceremony – this was so special to watch. Being the biking fanatics that they are (especially the groom), we managed to incorporate their bikes into the wedding too.
And in case you were wondering, yes the bride froze her butt off on the chairlift and yes her dress got a bit dirty. It was all worth it though!
