Leo – Colour or B&W?
Leo – Colour or B&W?
This is my adorable little nephew.  I absolutely love him to bits!  I got this shot recently and I'm torn between the colour version and the black & white one. I love the colour one for the obvious reason - his gorgeous blue eyes!  But I'm also drawn to the B&W version because the colour of his shirt and the dog bowls in the background are less distracting (yes, he might have gotten into the dog's food...) Which is your favourite? ...

Where have we been?
Where have we been?
Busy!  Not so busy that we can't keep up with our clients, but busy enough that our poor blog has been grossly neglected. So you might be wondering why this summer has been crazier than usual...For one thing, my little sister had a baby and I can't get enough of my new little nephew!  My sister's my best friend and she lives just up the street so I try to see them every day if I can. Another reason is all the training Tim and I have been doing.  I did my first half-marathon in June and Tim rode the Test of Metal ...

Farley – Squamish Pet Photography
This is our new puppy Farley.  I now completely understand why puppies are so cute...because they're little terrors that chew your favourite slippers, eat the remote control just before the hockey game is about to start (so you can't get to the right channel) and jump on your head early in the morning to get you out of bed.  All I have to do is look at that little face and all is forgiven! ...

Adidas – Farewell Friend
Adidas – Farewell Friend
We knew the day would come...We hoped it wouldn't come this soon, but it did.  Adi has brought so much happiness and laughter to our lives, and to the lives of everyone he meets. Many thanks to our family and friends for their support.  And to our vet and his wonderful staff - thank you for your compassion and determination to keep Adi with us for as long as possible. Adi, you are in our thoughts and will never be forgotten. ...

An update on Adi
An update on Adi
People have been afraid to ask how Adi is doing and I realized I never posted an update.  Adi's recovery has the vets dumbfounded and us delighted.  He has full use of his front leg again and his tumour has shrunken down so much that it's barely noticeable. He spent all of last summer hobbling around on three legs, so this summer he's been running and bouncing as much as he can - things we never thought he would be able to enjoy again.  His big dumb grin is back and he's loving life! Thanks to everyone for all your support throughout these hard ...

Heidi & John | Wedding Reception | Vancouver
Heidi & John | Wedding Reception | Vancouver
These are good friends of ours.  We were officially guests at their wedding reception (see the story here about their wedding), but we couldn't not bring our cameras since they had no official photographer.  The newlyweds hosted the reception in their beautiful backyard and made all the amazing food that was served.  It was a fun and down-to-earth affair...flip-flops were even provided for every guest so we were comfortable all night. Heidi is an tremendously talented seamstress and re-fashioned her mother's wedding dress to suit her incredible sense of style.  And, we couldn't resist taking some pictures with the father-of-the-bride's classic car! Thanks ...

Where have we been?
Where have we been?
Well...We are very sad to tell you that our dear dog, Adidas (better known as Adi), has been diagnosed with bone cancer.  He was in very rough shape a couple of weeks ago, but is doing much better now that he's on some good pain killers.  Our vet is wonderful and we are starting a course of new treatments any day now.  We've been enjoying every minute we have with Adi since we know his days are numbered.  Much of our free time has been focused on him since he is such a big part of our lives. Just wanted to share ...

Surprise Wedding | Vancouver
Surprise Wedding | Vancouver
This is what you get when you don't tell your friends that you're getting married!  We were invited over for a birthday bash and next thing we knew, the birthday boy was getting married right in his living room.  Tim did his best to capture the ceremony with his cell phone camera, but the images didn't turn out at all.  I guess it's time to buy a cell phone with a better built-in camera?  Congratulations to the newlyweds! ...

Spring has sprung!
Spring has sprung!
We were down in Vancouver a couple days ago - Tim and I met up with a friend to go for a ride on our road bikes.  It was a beautiful day and it was actually starting to feel like spring!  I was so inspired that I decided to treat myself to some tulips.  Here they are, sitting in my office as a friendly reminder that spring is on its way, despite the fact that it is trying to SNOW outside right now! ...

Saying goodbye to an old friend
Saying goodbye to an old friend
Our dear friends recently had to say goodbye to their dog Jack.  We've taken lots of photos of Jack over the years, but this one is by far my favourite and it was taken just a few weeks ago. ...

Levitt Lake
Levitt Lake
With all the cold weather over the holidays, Levitt Lake froze solid...well pretty solid (in most spots!)  It was a slippery and snowy drive up in the 4x4, but it was well worth it.  Some of us stayed closer to shore, while others skated around the entire lake.  Nothing beats spending a beautiful sunny day at the lake with friends, even if it's the dead of winter! ...
