The Sea to Sky Gondola isn't a secret anymore! Squamish has been discovered and has become a wedding destination for couples from all over the world. Destination weddings are the perfect excuse for a more intimate wedding and ceremony locations like the Spirit Viewing Platform are a great fit for a smaller crowd.
The bride used the suspension bride as her aisle and all her guests got to watch her cross the bridge from the ceremony site. Both the bridge and this deck are blocked off from other visitors so you get a semi-private ceremony in a spectacular location. Where else in the world do you get to treats your guests to scenery like this? As a wedding photographer, this location is so special.
After the ceremony we went for a short walk with the wedding party to explore the nearby trails. With incredible scenic views in every directions, the hardest part is stopping the photo session to head back to the lodge. Knowing that delicious appetizers were being served on the deck outside the main lodge, we didn't mind heading back. After downloading the gondola, we drove up to Whistler (where the couple was staying) for the dinner reception at Nita Lake Lodge. We met up with their dogs there for more photos and fun before dinner was served.
Having photographed a number of weddings at the Sea to Sky Gondola, I know all the best spots to go!
